Live on Sky Sports: A Sky Bet League 2 double-header

13 November 2015

This Sunday will see two matches from Sky Bet League 2 screened live on Sky Sports, with Hartlepool United versus Leyton Orient kicking off proceedings.

That match begins at 12:15pm, and will be closely followed by AFC Wimbledon's visit to Portsmouth, which gets under way at 2:30pm.

Hartlepool United v Leyton Orient

League 2 clubs were in FA Cup action last week, and both clubs advanced over non-league opposition to reach Round 2.

Leyton Orient hit Staines Town for six, while Pools edged out Conference leaders Cheltenham Town 1-0 - a welcome win for Ronnie Moore and his men, who have only triumphed once in their past seven League outings.

That poor recent run sees Hartlepool down in 19th, although they are eight points clear from safety, while the O's occupy the final Play-Off place in a tightly-packed group of promotion hopefuls.

Portsmouth v AFC Wimbledon

This will be just the fifth meeting between the two clubs, and Wimbledon could be in buoyant mood, boasting a 3-1 lead in the head-to-head record.

It's a fixture that has thrown up a clean sheet for one of the sides on each occasion - Portsmouth's sole success came via a 1-0 win at Fratton Park in February 2014, while The Dons posted a 4-0 win in the maiden encounter, prior to taking six points last term with 2-0 and 1-0 triumphs.

The game does have implications towards the upper reaches of the table. Pompey are going well in third, despite a three-game winless run, while the Dons are one point outside the Play-Off places.

Should the Dons pick up a third successive win against Pompey, they will go level on points with their opponents as the League 2 promotion race hots up.

Don't miss it!
