There was league and cup action in the Final Third Development League this week, with the prolific Notts County continuing their hot streak in front of goal.
Final Third Development Cup - North Group BNotts County have been in emphatic form so far this season, hitting 24 goals in their four matches, and they added another five to their tally in an entertaining affair at Chesterfield.
Colby Bishop put the visitors in front, but Byron Harrison and a Mani Dieseruvwe brace turned things around for the Spireites, handing them a 3-1 lead.
However, the Magpies rallied courtesy of an own goal, Jimmy Spencer, Lartey Sarpong and Wes Atkinson to seal a 5-3 triumph.
Final Third Development League West Division
Shrewsbury Town got the week's action under way at St George's Park on Monday afternoon, cruising to a 4-0 success against Burton Albion.
James Collins hit a hat-trick for the visiting Shrews, before Jordan Clark - who played a part in all of Collins' goals - volleyed home a fourth.
On Tuesday, Wigan Athletic ran out narrow winners in a seven-goal epic away at Wrexham.
Louis Robles' strike and a Ryan Jennings penalty put the Latics in control, but they were pegged back thanks to Callum Terrell and Aaron Simpson.
However, Robles again and Danny O'Brien restored the two-goal advantage and, despite a late Lee Fowler effort, Wigan held on for a 4-3 triumph.
Final Third Development League East Division
Gateshead got their first win of the 2015/16 campaign on Monday, recording a 2-0 home win over Grimsby Town.
Nick Cassidy put the Tynesiders 1-0 up after good work from striker Jon Shaw, and Shaw grabbed the second himself to round off a fine team move.
Final Third Development League South Division
A strong AFC Bournemouth line-up put Luton Town to the sword on Tuesday afternoon, posting a 4-0 triumph over the Hatters.
A whole host of first-team players featured for the Cherries, with Yann Kermorgant, Lee Tomlin and Tokelo Rantie (2) the men on target.
