Chesterfield have parted company with manager Dean Saunders following a run of four successive defeats in Sky Bet League 1.
The Spireites suffered their latest loss at the hands of Swindon Town on Saturday, going down 4-0 at the Proact Stadium. The result leaves the club just four points clear of the relegation zone.Assistant manager Brian Carey - who was appointed alongside Saunders in May - has also departed.
Chairman Dave Allen passed on his thanks to the pair and said: "We will not be rushed into making a decision on a new manager."
Chesterfield face a trip to Bury in a fortnight for their next Sky Bet League 1 game.
