Alan Judge named Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month

6 November 2015

Brentford midfielder Alan Judge has been named the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month for October.

The on-field inspiration behind Brentford’s October fest, Judge moved to the tip of the diamond and everything goes through him now.

Three goals, including a looping volley against Rotherham United and a beautiful curler at Charlton Athletic, came alongside four assists in the month.

Brentford manager Lee Carsley said: “I am really pleased for Alan to get this recognition and reward for his hard work. It is something he deserves.

“He has been the outstanding player in the Sky Bet Championship this month and his focus is now on winning this in November, December and every month.

“We have spoken internally that if he wants to be a full international, the consistency he has shown in the last month has to be replicated for 10, 11, 12 months. That is his target.”

Sky Sports’ Football League pundit Don Goodman said: “In the month when Alan welcomed a new addition to the Judge family, he also finishes as the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month.

“His displays at the tip of the Brentford midfield diamond have been nothing short of outstanding and he has really come into his own since Lee Carsley took charge at Griffin Park.”

Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery said: “Judge’s brace against Rotherham kick-started the Bees’ run of four successive victories, highlighting the Irish midfielder’s importance to his team.

“With Brentford only five points outside the Play-Off spots, they will be hoping Judge can continue his impressive form for the rest of the season."

The judging panel for the Sky Bet Player of the Month comprises Sky Sports Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Head of Communications John Nagle; League Managers Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery.
