Wycombe Wanderers boss Gareth Ainsworth calls for unity ahead of second leg

14 May 2015

Gareth Ainsworth is aiming to make the people of High Wycombe proud, and he's called for unity ahead of their Sky Bet League 2 Play-Off semi-final second leg against Plymouth Argyle.

The Chairboys welcome the Pilgrims to Adams Park 3-2 ahead but Ainsworth isn't underestimating the task his side have on their hands.

Wembley awaits the winners, with Southend United and Stevenage going head-to-head in the other semi-final at Roots Hall, and the Chairboys manager has called for as many supporters as possible to cheer his side on.

“It would mean so much to the whole town, not just the club, if we were able to reach the final but we know we have a huge challenge ahead of us in the second leg," he told the club's official website.

“The fans who follow us week in, week out have been phenomenal and so much of what we’ve achieved on the pitch is down to their support, getting behind us when we’ve got our backs against the wall and helping the lads believe that we can achieve success together.

“Now we need everyone to pull together to do the same on Thursday night, so whether it’s your first game or your thousandth game following us, give everything you’ve got, bring your mates and let’s do something amazing that future generations of Wycombe fans can remember us by.”
