Lee Bizley and his 12-year-old son Ciaran have flown in from Melbourne, Australia, to watch Swindon Town in the Sky Bet League 1 Play-Off Final, in a remarkable effort to ensure they #DontMissIt.
The pair touched down in London at 6.30am on Saturday having departed Melbourne on Thursday evening.Bizley emigrated down under back in 2007 with his wife Charlotte, who says the move was an extremely difficult for the Wiltshire-born, Swindon Town fanatic.
“I first met Lee when travelling Europe in 1998,” she said. “Fast forward to 2007 and we moved back to my home in Melbourne with our then four-year-old son Ciaran.
“Lee has to be the most patriotic Englishman/Swindonian to ever leave the country. Not a day goes by where I don’t hear the ‘S’ word – Swindon!
“Ciaran is very excited to attend a game at Wembley – the atmosphere will be something he has never experienced. The biggest stadium he has been to is the Melbourne Cricket Ground. He is a keen footballer himself for the Casey Panthers under-13 boys.
“Lee and Ciaran also waited for three hours back in January when the Socceroos – the Australian national football team - were training in Melbourne. They ignored the likes of Tim Cahill to catch a glimpse and a chat with Swindon’s Massimo Luongo.”
