Leyton Orient have parted ways with Fabio Liverani, following their recent relegation from Sky Bet League 1.
Liverani took charge of Orient in December 2014, but he was unable to save them from the drop and the O’s have decided that a change of direction is needed. The London-based side also dismissed Liverani’s two assistants, Maurizio Cantarelli and Marcello Donatelli, with a brief statement on their official site reading: “The club would like to thank Fabio, Maurizio and Marcello for their efforts this season, and we wish them all the best for the future.
“The club will now focus on rebuilding for next season, in the hope that we can make a swift return to League 1. We do not underestimate the challenge that we will face in the coming season, but the players and staff will work together to achieve the success that our loyal fans deserve.”
Liverani took charge of 27 games while in charge of Orient, but he was only able to win eight of those fixtures.
Orient’s focus will now turn to appointing a new manager who can help them return back to the third tier at the first attempt.
