Eddie Howe thanks Bournemouth's supporters at promotion party

5 May 2015

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has thanked the club’s supporters after the Cherries’ promotion party was attended by more than 50,000 people.

Howe’s team secured the Sky Bet Championship title on the final day of the season as their 3-0 win at Charlton Athletic was coupled with a draw for Watford against Sheffield Wednesday.

The triumph completed a historic season for the south coast club and they’ll now take their place in the Premier League for the first time ever.

"I just want to say a big thank you to everybody; you have been magnificent," Howe said.

"Thank you to every single one of you here. It just goes to show how much people care about the club and how passionate Bournemouth is about their football club."

Chairman Jeff Mostyn added: "What an amazing turnout. This is just absolutely incredible.

"Just driving along the seafront and seeing the thousands of people, is so moving.

"That just shows how much respect our supporters have for the club, Eddie and their players.

"I said to the players, today is our chance to show our respect and love for all the fans.

"While Eddie is happiest on the training ground, I am happiest with the fans.

"We are a family club, so to do this with our families, is a great occasion.”
