Bristol City manager Steve Cotterill was delighted with his side after their 3-0 win over Yeovil Town, which took them 13 points clear at the top of Sky Bet League 1.After a goalless first period, the top-versus-bottom clash burst into life when ex-Glovers Kieran Agard and Luke Freeman struck to put the Robins firmly in charge, before George Saville made it three late on.
“That was the best football we’ve played for a little while against a team who were ready and up for it,” Cotterill told the club's official website. “We controlled the game well, passed the ball well and it was probably no coincidence we played like that on a good pitch.
“Our possession was very good. Whilst we’ve had to show the other side of us over the past few weeks, tonight we were able to show the good footballing side of us and that was pleasing.
“We’d showed good patience but we just needed to make sure we added a cutting edge in the final third, and we managed to do that in the second half to really good effect.
"I'm delighted with the last three games, which were away from home, and our return has been brilliant and to go 13 points clear is a fantastic achievement."
Impressively, Saville's goal means that every outfield player has now scored for Bristol City this campaign.
On that, Cotterill added: "We are pleased with that stat. We do try and play att acking football and that's probably shown with all those goals."
