Burton Albion boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink says his side need to continue pushing if they are to make sure of promotion from Sky Bet League 2, ahead of their game against Stevenage. The Brewers are two points clear at the top of the division going in to their game in hand against Stevenage on Monday evening, and should they pick up three points, they'll be 12 ahead of fourth-placed Bury with seven games to go.
Hasselbaink insists his Brewers will continue to fight until promotion is secured, and isn't allowing for any complacency from his squad.
“It’s not like we are not training and having an extra day off," Hasselbaink said.
“We are in, the players are in, I am in and we train, we prepare for Stevenage, that is what we are doing.
“We need to perform first, we need to be ready. That is what we do, that is what we have to do.
“We can’t now say they deserve a day off because they are going so well, there is no let up. I am big believer that you get a day off because you need a day off."
