Portsmouth's Jed Wallace has been named the Sky Bet League 2 Player of the Month for February. The livewire was behind Pompey’s surge up the table, tormenting defenders with his pace and directness.
He scored two goals in a month in which he put in a stellar performance at Cambridge United, scoring one and setting up four more in a 6-2 win.
Portsmouth manager Andy Awford said: "Jed had a fantastic month in February and has played an important role for the team in us getting a decent return of points.
"His goals, assists and overall contribution have been consistent and the challenge for him and the team now is to be just as consistent throughout the remainder of the season."
Sky Sports’ Football League pundit Don Goodman said: “Wallace’s performances since the turn of the year have led to him being targeted by the opposition, but that didn’t stop the 21-year-old having a fantastic February.
“He was instrumental in the wins against Cambridge and Tranmere and bagged the winner against Exeter.”
Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery said: “Jed Wallace’s trickery and pace have been at the heart of Pompey’s good form.”
The judging panel for the Sky Bet Manager of the Month is chaired by former Ipswich Town manager George Burley, along with Sky Sports’ Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson; League Managers’ Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery.
