Dave Robertson 'ecstatic' after Peterborough United win at Sheffield United

4 March 2015

Peterborough United caretaker manager Dave Robertson praised his team after they came from behind to win 2-1 at promotion-chasing Sheffield United.

Matt Done had put the hosts in front midway through the second half before Jack Payne and Conor Washington struck late on to complete an incredible turnaround.

Robertson said: "I'm ecstatic. The lads dug deep. We weathered the storm against a strong Sheffield United team in the first 15 minutes and I thought we finished the first half strongly.

"We got the lads together and told them, 'This game's there for the taking'. In the second half, young Rico [Ricardo Santos] knew he made a mistake for the goal. He knew he should have passed it back but the ball was nicked off him and we went one-nil down.

"He knew he'd made a mistake and the lads got behind each other. We had a right go at it and we went to a 3-4-3. We got the goal and we wanted to go on and win it.

"It was a Roy of the Rovers moment for Conor when he went through and scored the winner.

"The bottom line was that we believed we could win this. I said in my team-talk that no-one expects us to come to Sheffield United and win, except for us. That belief shone through and I'm over the moon for the players."
