Board agrees to seven subs named for Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final

10 March 2015

Bristol City and Walsall will be able to name seven substitutes for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final on March 22.

The two clubs taking part in the final at Wembley Stadium later this month made a request to The Football League to increase the number of named substitutes from five to seven.

A Football League spokesman said: “The Board of The Football League recently considered a request from Bristol City and Walsall to allow seven substitutes instead of five to be included on the teamsheet for the forthcoming Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final at Wembley Stadium on March 22.

"The Board acceded to the request and have committed to make this a permanent change to the competition’s rules for the final.”
