Barnsley manager Lee Johnson to return to former employers Oldham Athletic

13 March 2015

Just 17 days after leaving Oldham Athletic, Lee Johnson returns to Boundary Park as the away manager with Barnsley, in a 3pm kick-off on Saturday.

Johnson had been the Latics' manager for just under two years, having joined the club back in March 2013. A 3-0 victory in his first game, against Hartlepool, preceded a four-game winless run upon arrival at Oldham.

But the 34-year-old left the club for Barnsley last month and still has a 100 per cent record after three games with the Tykes, with an aggregate score of 5-0.

That has been part of a five-game winning streak, all without conceding, ahead of Johnson’s appearance at his former employers this weekend. The last time the club’s defence was breached was 457 minutes ago, against Crawley back on Valentine’s Day.

Robin van Persie famously almost went into the home dressing room when returning to the Emirates with Manchester United - will Johnson do the same on Saturday?
