Portsmouth boss Andy Awford has been named the Sky Bet League 2 Manager of the Month for February.Awford guided Pompey through six unbeaten games, amassing 14 points and posting four clean sheets.
The attacking mindset he has instilled was witnessed in a wonderful 6-2 win at Cambridge United.
George Burley, who chairs the Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel, said: “February was an excellent month for Portsmouth, accumulating 14 points from six games.
“They showed great consistency and attacking play whilst keeping four clean sheets. On top of this, they had a truly amazing 6–2 away win against Cambridge United.”
Sky Sports’ Football League pundit Don Goodman said: “An unbeaten February gave Awford’s Pompey side an outside chance of making the Play-Offs and improved the mood within Fratton Park.
“The 6-2 away victory at Cambridge was the pick of the bunch with a Matt Tubbs hat-trick putting the gloss on the win.”

The judging panel for the Sky Bet Manager of the Month is chaired by former Ipswich Town manager George Burley, along with Sky Sports’ Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson; League Managers’ Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery.
