Tom Naylor says he did not have to think twice about joining Burton Albion, after being handed the opportunity to join the Brewers.
The 23-year-old midfielder was on loan at the Staffordshire-based outfit towards the back end of the last campaign, and he enjoyed the stay so much that he has now made the move permanent.Naylor has signed a two-year contract with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s side, and he is confident of their chances of making an impact in Sky Bet League 1.
“When the gaffer told me he wanted to do the deal, there was no hesitation,” he said to the club’s official site. “I signed up straight away.
“I established myself in the side at the back end of last season and I really enjoyed it. We won the league and it was really nice to be part of that team. The club is clearly going places and that’s the reason I wanted to sign and try and get further up the league with Burton Albion.
“Since we have come back for training, everyone is buzzing, really up for it. We just want to get this pre-season out of the way and crack on with that first game of the season at home to Scunthorpe.
“I’m sure the gaffer’s bringing the right players into the squad. There are also quite a few players from last season still under contract. Everyone’s gelled and I’m sure we will push on and get as high as we can in our first season in League 1.”
