Rob Page secures top summer target as Port Vale aim to build 'bright future'

16 June 2015

Rob Page believes new signing Remie Streete can be an important player in what the manager is hoping is a 'bright future' at Port Vale.

Defender Streete spent time on loan with the Valiants last season from Newcastle United and, following his Magpies release, Page made the 20-year-old one of his top targets this summer.

The manager also secured the services of former Everton midfielder Sam Kelly, and Page says he and Streete can become key figures at Vale Park.

The boss told port-vale.co.uk: “We’re really pleased to have signed up Remie. He’s a very good player with a lot of potential – something we saw when he was last with us.

“I’m very pleased to welcome Sam to Port Vale Football Club. I’m sure he will be a valuable player for us over the next few years.

“Remie, along with Sam, is now part of the bright future we are building at this football club.

“We were very impressed when he was last with us and we made him one of our top summer targets so to have him in the building is brilliant.”
