Quique Flores to lead Watford into the Premier League

5 June 2015

Quique Flores has been appointed as Watford's new head coach and will lead the club into the Premier League in 2015/16.

The Hornets won promotion from the Sky Bet Championship, finishing second, under the guidance of Slavisa Jokanovic but talks broke down with the Serbian about renewing his deal.

And 50-year-old Flores – a former Real Madrid, Valencia and Spain right-back – is his replacement, being appointed on a two-year deal at Vicarage Road.

Flores' previous managerial success includes winning the Europa League and UEFA Super Cup at Atletico in 2010, and the Portuguese League Cup with Benfica in 2009.
