Pictures and tweets from day one of the London to Amsterdam Challenge

Riders taking part in the 2015 London to Amsterdam Challenge for Prostate Cancer UK set out from Leyton Orient’s East London home this morning.

More than 250 cyclists departed for Harwich, where they will catch an overnight ferry to the continent before the second leg of the ride to the home of Ajax tomorrow.

Everyone taking part in the ride will be raising money for Prostate Cancer UK, the official charity partner of The Football League. Among the 250 cyclists from over 50 clubs taking part in this year’s event are former England player Luther Blissett, Preston North End manager Simon Grayson, former Ireland midfielder Matt Holland and Newport County boss Terry Butcher.

A six-strong team from the Football League will also be taking part in the ride, alongside former players David Lowe, Damon Searle, Simon Webster, Simon Milton, Paul Peschisolido and Robert Kozluk.
