Peter Clarke excited to get started at Bury

29 June 2015

Bury’s newest recruit Peter Clarke believes the future is bright, after penning a two-year contract at Gigg Lane.

Clarke became the Shakers’ first signing of the summer, with David Flitcroft looking to strengthen his squad following their promotion from Sky Bet League 2 last term.

And the 33-year-old defender is optimistic that his new side can continue to move forward, after completing his first training session with his teammates.

“I met the chairman, the gaffer and the coaching staff here, and they were really infectious in their belief of the club and the way they want to work,” the veteran defender, who has previously represented the likes of Huddersfield Town and Blackpool, told Bury’s official site.

“They are hardworking and thorough gentlemen who want to make themselves, the club and the players here better, which really appealed to me.

“It’s a club that’s very stable, and on the up as well as wanting to progress and as players like in any line of work we want to be the best we can be.

“I’m no different, and I want to play at the highest level I can and I can see that being attained here over the next couple of years.”
