Peter Murphy is eager for regular match time after joining Morecambe from fellow Sky Bet League 2 side Wycombe Wanderers.
The midfielder scored seven goals in the first half of last season for the Chairboys, before falling out of favour at the back end of the campaign. He has now turned his attention to getting regular football again, having joined the Shrimps on a two-year deal.
The former Accrington Stanley man said: “I just want to play regular football and I wasn’t getting that at Wycombe at the end of last season.
“I was allowed to talk to other clubs and when I met Jim [Bentley, Morecambe manager] and Kenny [McKenna, assistant manager] they were brilliant with me. They have got a real ambition and really sold their vision to me.
“I’m just someone who wants to play football regularly and hopefully I can do that here and help Morecambe get success.
“I know some of the lads already and know that there is a good squad here and I’m really looking forward to next season.’’
Murphy is one of the latest of Bentley's summer recruits, joining Tom Barkhuizen, Lee Molyneux, Aaron Wildig and Adam Dugdale at the Globe Arena for 2015/16.
