Micky Mellon backs Junior Brown to be a hit at Shrewsbury Town

24 June 2015

Shrewsbury Town manager Micky Mellon believes his latest recruit Junior Brown will be a big hit at Greenhous Meadow.

Brown has penned a one-year deal with the Sky Bet League 1 outfit and he is a player Mellon knows well, with the pair having linked up at Fleetwood Town earlier in their careers.

Mellon is now looking forward to working with the skilful left-sided player again and he believes that he will be an important addition to his Shrewsbury team.

“He’s a player I’ve had before and I know the strengths he will bring to the group,” the 43-year-old boss said to the club’s official site.

“He’s exactly what we’re looking for, I’ve always enjoyed working with him and I’ve always had a good relationship with him.

“I’m sure he’ll become a real fans’ favourite - through his style of play, what he’ll bring to the group and he’ll score goals as well.

“He’s left-footed, he can play wing back or anywhere along that left hand side and will be a fantastic addition to the group.”
