Brighton & Hove Albion move a dream come true – Tomer Hemed

25 June 2015

Tomer Hemed says it is a dream come true to be playing in England, after completing a move to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Hemed has joined Chris Hughton’s side from Spanish outfit Almeria, and he is looking forward to getting started in his new surroundings.

“England for me is the best place to play football,” he told the club’s official website.

“It was a dream for me to come here and play in English football. I can say that this club is the best place for me to start my new chapter.

“I believe that this season all the people that don’t know about me will see good things, and I am waiting to play, to help the team succeed together and to make all the fans and the club happy at the end of the season.”

Hemed will experience British football for the first time after moving to the Seagulls, and his transition will be helped by his relationship with Brighton midfielder Beram Kayal.

The pair know each other through time spent with the Israeli national team, and Hemed is looking forward to linking up with his countryman again.

“Beram is a very good friend of mine, we play together in the national team and it will be very nice for me to play with him again at Brighton,” he added.

“We spoke before and he told me very good things about the club and the place, and I know that the club really wants to be promoted to the Premier League, so I am really excited to come here and give 100 per cent in every game to try and achieve promotion.”
