Queens Park Rangers' Alejandro Faurlin is readying himself for another season at Loftus Road after penning a new one-year contract. The 28-year-old has been at the club since July 2009 and helped them win the Championship in 2010/11, but missed most of last season after suffering a third ACL injury in as many years.
He has battled back to full fitness, though, and is raring to go ahead of what he believes will be a bright 2015/16 Sky Bet Championship campaign for the Hoops.
“I'm extremely happy,” Faurlin told QPR's official website.
“I have to say thank you to everyone at the club for keeping me here and giving me the chance to prove a lot of people wrong. I just want to play football.
“I contemplated giving up after my last injury. It was really tough and I was in a dark place. Thankfully, I’m still here.
“All you can do is give your best to come back. The support from everyone in and around the club has been massive. I am eternally grateful for that.
“I have trained with the lads for three to four months now. I feel confident. I’m ready to go again.
“I can't wait to play in front of the QPR fans. I feel part of the family, I have done for six years.
“I'm sure next season is going to be a good one. I love this place.”
