Stanley Aborah says his aim is to help Notts County back into Sky Bet League 1, after penning a two-year deal at Meadow Lane. The Dutch midfielder has become County’s 14th signing of what has been a very active summer, and he has high hopes for his time with the club.
Aborah believes that Ricardo Moniz is the perfect manager to get the best out of him, with the 28-year-old determined to break into the side’s starting line-up ahead of the Magpies’ season opener against Stevenage.
“It was an easy decision eventually and I hope to help Notts get back into League 1 and after that we shall see,” Aborah, whose only previous experience of English football came with Gillingham back in 2010, told Notts County’s official site.
“I’ve been on trial and Ricardo knows me well, he just wanted to see me fit. Pre-season has been tough and the games have been nice. I’m pleased to be here in England, it’s where the football is.
“We’ve had a lot of new players, we need adapt to each other and I’m confident we will do that.
“I’m confident that I can make the first 11 come August, but it’s not a certainty. It will be a fight, but I will be ready for it.”
