Stand Up & Be Counted – Notts County add Slovenian striker to their squad

8 July 2015

Notts County have added Filip Valencic to their squad for the forthcoming campaign, with the Slovenian striker signing a one-year deal at Meadow Lane.

Valencic is County’s 10th addition of what has been a busy summer so far, with their squad starting to take on a very cosmopolitan feel.

The Sky Bet League 2 outfit have scoured Europe for talent, with manager Ricardo Moniz using his extensive knowledge of football around the continent to help find quality players to add to his team.

The signings should appease County’s wealth of overseas supporters ahead of the new campaign.

The Magpies are currently leading the way in the Stand Up & Be Counted table, with 6,105 fans who live abroad registering their support.

Their total of overseas supporters is almost 500 more than their nearest rivals, Leeds United, but there is still time to register.

Stand Up & Be Counted asks fans to register their country and city of residence via a dedicated microsite at representyourclub.com, so whether you are a supporter of Accrington Stanley in Argentina or York City in Yemen you can show your support of your club.

The site includes an overall leaderboard so fans can see where their club’s global fanbase ranks compared to the other 71 Football League clubs, as well as a map displaying where in the world fans are from.
