Preston North End celebrated their recent promotion by parading a coffin through the streets of Bamber Bridge.
The tradition, which started in 1948, is one of the more unusual footballing customs, but it is designed to signify whether Preston have been promoted or relegated.Great turn out today for the north end coffin parade in preston, Interesting tradition! #pnefc#promotionpic.twitter.com/kN2g5n4UsI

If North End have moved up the leagues then a coffin will be raised, but if they are relegated then one will be buried.
Thousands turned out to watch this year’s event, with fans of North End still jubilant after their successful promotion campaign last season.
Simon Grayson’s men were successful in the Play-Offs, beating Swindon Town 4-0 at Wembley to secure their route into the Sky Bet Championship.
