Martyn Woolford can't wait to join forces with Nigel Adkins again, after becoming the first signing of the new Sheffield United manager's reign.
Woolford, who has signed an initial two-year contract with the Blades, previously enjoyed a successful spell under Adkins’ guidance at Scunthorpe United – he scored a Wembley winner which sent the Iron up from Sky Bet League 1.The 29-year-old is now aiming to repeat that success at Bramall Lane, telling the club's official website: “It is great to be working with Nigel Adkins once again and everyone knows what the major goal is.
"Being a Yorkshireman I know how big this club is and I'm looking forward to getting started with the lads.”
Delighted to be a Sheffield United player. Itching to get training and looking forward to the season. Thanks for all the welcome messages 👍

Adkins is excited about the options that Woolford brings to his squad, heaping praise on the attacker who has also played for Bristol City and, most recently, Millwall in the Sky Bet Championship.
"We are very aware of the talents Martyn brings to Bramall Lane,” the manager stated. “He can play in several attacking positions, is fit, strong, robust, honest, hard-working and has a fantastic professional attitude.
“He has been consistently available for selection over many seasons and knows the demands required of this level."
