Uwe Rosler believes he is close to completing his Leeds United jigsaw after adding Chris Wood to his squad.

Uwe Rosler believes he is close to completing his Leeds United jigsaw after adding Chris Wood to his squad.

The striker has signed on at Elland Road on a four-year deal, completing a move from Leicester City to become the Whites’ fourth addition of the summer.

And Rosler believes that the target man will be crucial to his team’s chances in the Sky Bet Championship this campaign.

“I think he’s another important piece in the jigsaw,” Rosler told Leeds’ official site. “We were looking for a number nine type – like Chris Wood is.

“He’s physical, strong and experienced in this league. He has potential to develop and has his best years in front of him.

“It’s exciting. He already has a proven goalscoring record and I think there are many goals to come. We think that he is the right player.”

Wood played 17 times last season for Leicester and Ipswich, scoring once.
