Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Kortney Hause says he is ready to cement his place in the starting line-up this season.
The 20-year-old began the last campaign in Sky Bet League 1, on loan at Gillingham, but was recalled to Molineux in November by manager Kenny Jackett.Hause went on to make 17 appearances for Wolves in the second half of the season, and is now looking to secure a permanent place in the centre of their defence.
“I remember getting on the pre-season tour last year and it has turned into a good year for me since,” he told Wolves' official website.
"A lot has happened in the space of one year. I went on loan and did well at Gillingham, got some England Under-20 call-ups and then came back here and played at Wolves.
"It’s been good and hopefully I have managed to take everything in my stride.
"I have set myself some higher targets for this season. Last season I was a young boy coming into the team, playing not in my natural position at left back.
"I don’t know what everyone else is thinking but personally I feel that I have marked my place in the squad now and am ready to kick on and challenge for the position where I feel I am strongest, at centre back.
"It’s not about being thought of as a young player anymore - I’m looking to really push on again this season and do well."
