Kieran Sadlier has paid tribute to Jack Collison for helping him earn a contract at Peterborough United.
Collison joined The Posh this summer and recommended Sadlier to the club’s coaching staff, after seeing his talents as a youngster at West Ham United earlier in their respective careers. The 20-year-old was then brought to the ABAX Stadium on trial, where he impressed and earned himself a permanent deal.
Sadlier is now looking forward to getting started at the Sky Bet League 1 outfit, with breaking into Dave Robertson’s starting line-up his main aim.
“I know Jack well from my time at West Ham and he is a great player to learn from,” Sadlier, who signed for Peterborough on a day where they also brought in Lee Angol, Andrew Fox and Souleymane Coulibaly, said to the club’s official site.
“I think he helped me get a trial and I am delighted that everything has worked out.
“I have played in central midfield, but I play on the left and I am looking forward to the season and hopefully playing a part in a promotion push.
“I spent a long time at West Ham and it was tough to leave, but I played a few games for St Mirren and they wanted to keep me on, but I was a long way from home and wanted to take a gamble and try and earn a deal here and I am really happy it has worked out that way.
“The challenge now is to break into a really strong first team and I am looking forward to that and working with the management here.”
