Josh Passley and Matt McClure can fulfil potential at Dagenham & Redbridge - Wayne Burnett

17 July 2015

Wayne Burnett has hailed the potential of new signings Josh Passley and Matt McClure, after adding the pair to his Dagenham & Redbridge squad.

Having made experienced defender Nyron Nosworthy his first signing of the summer, Burnett has now added two younger players to Dagenham's ranks ahead of their upcoming Sky Bet League 2 campaign.

Josh Passley was the first to be announced, with the right-back signing a one-year contract with the option for another, and he was followed through the door by front man Matt McClure, who has put pen-to-paper on a similar deal.

Speaking about Passley, who signs following his release from Fulham, Burnett told the club's official website: "Josh is someone we’ve come up against and has fantastic potential, he has been on loan at Shrewsbury and Portsmouth and can enhance our group of players that we already have.”

Joining the 20-year-old at Victoria Road is McClure, who had previously spent five years with Wycombe Wanderers, scoring 24 goals in 107 appearances, and the Daggers boss believes that the striker can go from strength-to-strength after making the move to East London.

Burnett added: "Matt McClure is a player I’ve known for quite a while and I’m delighted I’ve got someone who has got potential and can certainly play at this level and higher."
