Darius Henderson hoping his experience will prove vital to Scunthorpe United

24 July 2015

Darius Henderson is hoping that his experience can prove key for new club Scunthorpe United.

The 33-year-old forward has represented the likes of Sheffield United, Millwall, Nottingham Forest and, most recently, Leyton Orient over his 15-year professional career.

And, after penning a one-year deal at Glanford Park, he believes that his knowhow could be vital for Scunthorpe.

“I feel like I do have a lot of experience now,” Henderson, who is the Iron’s 10th addition of the summer, said to the club’s official site.

“Hopefully that will rub off in an infectious and positive way with my new teammates.

“I think every striker is looking to score goals and I’m no different. I want to be positive in the dressing room, not only just in the pitch. Hopefully this will be a positive signing and I can’t wait to get started.

“I think you can see from the outside alone that Scunthorpe are having a go this season. There may be a transition, with the number of players that have come into the club. We just need to gel as quickly as possible and get off to a good start.”
