Crewe Alexandra’s attractive football convinced me to sign – Billy Bingham

7 July 2015

Billy Bingham says that Crewe Alexandra’s aesthetically pleasing style of play was a major reason behind his move to the Gresty Road.

Bingham has moved to Crewe from Dagenham & Redbridge, becoming their first signing of the summer.

The 24-year-old is now looking forward to starting in his new environment, and he believes that the time was right to leave the Daggers.

“I am delighted to sign and I am excited to be playing League 1 football for a club like Crewe,” Bingham told his new side’s official site. “I now need to push on and I am really looking forward to the challenge.

“I spent six years at Dagenham and they made me who I am really. I love to play football the right way and pass the ball and they did the other side of things as well. They have given me the foundation to go on in my career and sign for Crewe and I have nothing but kind words for everyone there.

“I just felt it was the right time to move on and once I met the manager (Steve Davis) and the assistant manager (Neil Baker) I knew that Crewe was the right place. I love to play football and I know Crewe is renowned for passing the ball, so that helped me make the right decision.”

Bingham made 117 appearances for Dagenham during his spell at the London club, scoring eight times.
