Charlton Athletic captain Johnnie Jackson delivers supporter’s season ticket in style

6 July 2015

Charlton Athletic captain Johnnie Jackson has delivered a lucky supporter’s season ticket in style, as part of the #PlayerPledge campaign which the club are running.

Jackson promised to dress up as Del Boy from Only Fools and Horses should the Addicks sell an extra 100 season tickets and, after they reached that target, he delivered on his vow.

The central-midfielder went kitted out in Del Boy’s sheepskin coat and even drove the Trotters’ famous three-wheeled van, with goalkeeper Stephen Henderson playing the role of Rodney.

Sixteen-year-old Lee Carroll was the lucky recipient of the season ticket, and his mother revealed her son’s delight at having such a memorable way to receive it.

"Lee was over the moon when he opened the door and saw them standing there," she told Charlton’s official site.

"He described it as the best day of his life. He had brought the new home shirt the day before so was wearing it whilst playing football in the garden. It felt like fate."

Jordan Cousins is the next Charlton player to make a pledge. He will wax his legs as part of the #PlayerPledge campaign should another 100 season tickets be sold.
