Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal says that he aiming to start a new era at Hillsborough.
Carvalhal took over from Stuart Gray at the end of June and is already attempting to stamp his mark on the team. The Portuguese boss is aiming to bring in technically adept players, and he wants to deliver success to a club which he feels hasn’t had enough to celebrate in recent history.
“We must change things here, we haven't had success here in last 15 years and it's time to start a new era,” Carvalhal said at his first press conference. "We are working hard to create a strong squad.
“The most important game is always the next one, that next one is Bristol City, and it's important we make a good start. We need players who can fight but also have that technical ability. The players are enjoying what we are doing.
“I want to make us strong in our stadium in front of our fans. We want to get this club back in its correct place.
“I am not afraid of expectation. We must work hard to achieve but I am ready for this challenge.”
