Albert Adomah insists Middlesbrough fear no one ahead of the new Sky Bet Championship campaign

24 July 2015

Middlesbrough winger Albert Adomah says his side do not fear anyone ahead of the new Sky Bet Championship season.

Boro narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League last term when they were beaten 2-0 in the Play-Off Final by Norwich City.

But the 27-year-old believes the club are in a better position to challenge at the summit of the Championship table this time around, and says they no longer fear any other side in the division.

“You can’t say it was a successful season – I know we finished high in the table but we didn’t get the last promotion push,” he said on Boro's official website.

“Hopefully this season if we can get promotion then I can say it was successful.

“For me, since I’ve played in the Championship, it’s the first time I’ve finished in the top eight, which was good. But we just missed out at the last hurdle so hopefully this time around – the team is getting stronger, we’re bringing in new signings – we can all gel together and do it the easy way.

“To be honest, the teams we feared are all promoted. It’s down to us and we finished runners-up in the final, so we’ll be one of the favourites to get automatic promotion.

“Derby always seem to be strong every year, but we need to focus on ourselves so I’m not really worried about any other team apart from Middlesbrough, and that’s the main thing.”
