Weekend in numbers

26 January 2015

We take a look at the numbers that make up the weekend's Sky Bet Football League action.

0 - After their 1-1 draw at Tranmere Rovers, Hartlepool United are still the only Sky Bet League 2 team without an away clean sheet this term.

1 - Southend United’s 2-1 victory at Portsmouth was the only away victory in Sky Bet League 2.

3 - Brentford have won three straight games in the Sky Bet Championship having triumphed 2-1 at Norwich, and boss Mark Warburton has named the same starting XI in all of those matches.

3 - Wigan have failed to find the net in their last three games against Huddersfield, and in five of their last seven.

3 - Adebayo Azeez has scored three goals in his last three home league games for AFC Wimbledon.

4 - It was an action-packed opening 45 minutes in the match between Shrewsbury and Stevenage with four of the five goals coming in the first half, including two in two minutes for the Shrews.

4 - And it was the same story in the Sky Bet League 1 encounter between Gillingham and Oldham, in a lively first 45 minutes.

5 - Ronnie Moore saw his Hartlepool side draw 1-1 at Tranmere - the club where he has had five spells as either a player, manager or assistant manager.

5 - Brentford's Jota ended a run of five matches without a goal, after scoring in all of the previous four matches before that.

6 - Over half of the games in Sky Bet League 2 finished as draws, with six of the 11 ending level.

6 - Malky Mackay is still to register a home win as manager of Wigan Athletic, in six attempts, after his side fell 1-0 to Huddersfield Town.

7 - Watford netted seven second-half goals to come from 2-0 down against Blackpool and demolish the Tangerines at Vicarage Road.

8 - Portsmouth are now winless in eight following a 2-1 loss at home to Southend United.

8 - Huddersfield’s victory at Wigan was their first success on the road since October, eight games ago.

10 - Sky Bet League 2 leaders Wycombe Wanderers extended their unbeaten run to 10 matches by drawing 0-0 with Mansfield Town.

10 - The ball hit the back of the net 10 times in Sky Bet League 2 matches between the 16th and 30th minute, with 29 goals being scored in total in the division.

11 - Northampton Town boss Chris Wilder named the same starting XI for the third successive match, and it paid dividends as his side notched their third win on the spin, with the Cobblers keeping clean sheets in all of those games.

13 - Peterborough United picked up just their second victory in 13 Sky Bet League 1 outings by winning 2-1 at Notts County.

14 - Reuben Reid's opener against Morecambe was his 14th goal of the season in all competitions, and 12th in League 2, which makes him the joint-second most prolific goalscorer so far in the division.

26 - Watford’s Odion Ighalo netted a hat-trick in 26 second-half minutes against Blackpool.

29 - The Seasiders have now won only once in 29 league games on their travels, following their 7-2 humbling.

1892 - Crewe Alexandra completed the league double over rivals Port Vale by winning 1-0 on Saturday. That’s the first time they’ve ever overcame the Valiants twice in one season, despite their first competitive meeting coming way back in 1892.

1929 - Brentford’s narrow success at Carrow Road was their first win at Norwich City since 1929.

1989 - Colchester United ended a run of five home defeats – their worst run since 1989 – by beating fellow strugglers Leyton Orient 2-0.

2003 - Watford’s stunning victory against Blackpool saw them score seven goals for the first time since April 2003, when they notched a 7-4 win against Burnley.

2013 - Cheltenham Town boss Paul Buckle faced his old side Luton Town, who he left in 2013. The game ended 1-1, so Buckle is still waiting for his first home victory as the Robins’ boss.

26,148 - Norwich City's home game against Brentford pulled in the biggest crowd of the weekend with over 26,000 in attendance at Carrow Road.
