Weekend in numbers

19 January 2015

We take a look at the numbers that make up the weekend's Sky Bet Football League action.

0 – Blackpool remain winless on the road in the Sky Bet Championship following a 2-0 defeat at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

1 - Ben Osborn scored his first senior goal to earn Nottingham Forest a crucial win against Derby County in Saturday’s East Midlands lunchtime clash.

1 - Newport had won seven of eight, conceding only one goal in their previous four outings, before going down 4-0 at the hands of Cambridge United.

2 - For the second consecutive week in Sky Bet League 1 an outfield player had to don the gloves and go in goal. On Saturday, it was the turn of Scunthorpe United defender Andrew Boyce, seven days after Crawley Town striker Matt Harrold went in goal.

2 - Yeovil Town notched only their second win of the season at Huish Park after overcoming Bradford City 1-0, and that result brought their four-game losing streak to an end.

3 - Managerless Gillingham ended a three-match losing run by seeing off Coventry City 3-1.

4 - Noel Hunt’s brace for Ipswich Town was his first league double in over four years.

5 - Colchester United have lost five home games in succession, which represents their worst run since 1989.

5 - Millwall’s 3-1 defeat to Ipswich was their fifth loss on the spin, and it saw them drop into the Sky Bet Championship relegation zone.

6 - Following five straight defeats between November and December, Wolves are now unbeaten in six, taking three points in five of those games.

6 - Six of the last seven league meetings between Milton Keynes Dons and Sheffield United have ended 1-0, following the Dons' narrow weekend win.

7 - Scunthorpe United’s seven-match unbeaten run was ended when they lost 2-0 to Bristol City.

8 - Rotherham United have not won any of their most recent eight home games in all competitions following a 2-0 loss to Sky Bet Championship leaders Bournemouth. Steve Evans fielded five debutants in his Millers starting line-up.

9 - Wycombe Wanderers loanee Fred Onyedinma scored his third goal in as many games, against Bury, to extend the Chairboys’ unbeaten stretch to nine matches.

10 - Port Vale beat Peterborough United 2-1 and that means the Posh have won only once in 10 games.

10 - Dagenham & Redbridge’s poor run against Northampton Town continued with the Cobblers running out 1-0 victors at Sixfields. That was their ninth win in 10 meetings with the Daggers, with the only other clash between the two ending level.

10 - Middlesbrough are now unbeaten at The Riverside in 10 outings as Lee Tomlin struck a brace for a 2-0 win against Huddersfield Town.

11 - Birmingham City drew 1-1 with Leeds United for their 11th point from a possible 18 on the road. They hadn’t registered an away win since early April prior to Gary Rowett’s appointment in October.

13 - Cardiff City’s away struggles continued as they lost 3-2 at Norwich City. The Bluebirds have won just one of their 13 games on the road this term.

13 - Brentford have scored a goal in each of their last 13 matches in the Sky Bet Championship - the longest scoring streak in the division.

14 - The Bees are yet to drop a point from leading positions this season, taking all three points in games in which they have gone in front.

16 - Stevenage made it 16 points from a possible 18 by winning 2-0 at York City. The Minstermen have tasted success only once at home this term.

18 - Luton won on the road for the first time since 18th October, triumphing 1-0 at Plymouth Argyle.

19 – Swindon's Andy Williams took his goal tally to 19 for the season with a strike against Chesterfield, which is his personal best.

36 -  All 36 Football League games over the weekend featured at least one goal.

59 - Adebayo Akinfenwa put AFC Wimbledon 1-0 up against Carlisle United after just 59 seconds, which was the first goal of the 3pm kick-offs in The Football League. The Cumbrians hit back to win 3-1, however, ending a run of three straight losses.

200 - Troy Deeney marked his 200th Watford appearance with a goal in their 5-0 thumping of Charlton Athletic.
300 - Jake Howells made his 300th appearance for Luton Town, at the age of just 23.

646 - Dagenham have netted only one goal in their last 646 minutes of Sky Bet League 2 football, stretching back to 29th November, having failed to score at Northampton.

2005 - A 3-1 scoreline gave Ipswich Town their first league win at Millwall since August 2005.

2011 - Nottingham Forest’s 2-1 East Midlands derby victory was their first at Derby County since 2011 when Robert Earnshaw netted the winner.
