Bradford City boss Phil Parkinson has been named the Sky Bet League 1 Manager of the Month for December.
Parkinson stuck to his principles during a difficult autumn, convinced that the results would come. They did in December with a 10-point haul from four unbeaten games and just one goal conceded as the Bantams climbed into the Play-Off places.
George Burley, who chairs the Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel, said: “Going undefeated through December and pushing the club back into the Play-Off places represents a very good month for Phil Parkinson and Bradford City.
“The two highlights were excellent away wins at Fleetwood and Chesterfield.”
Sky Sports’ Football League pundit Don Goodman said: “It may have taken a little longer than he’d have hoped for but Phil Parkinson’s Bradford looked to have turned a corner in pursuit of promotion from League 1.
“December included progress in the FA Cup and extending their unbeaten record to nine games in total. They go into January full of confidence.”
Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery said: “Bradford extended their unbeaten run into December after their defensive frailties disappeared, case in point being their 1-0 win away at Play-Off rivals Chesterfield.”
The judging panel for the Sky Bet Manager of the Month is chaired by former Ipswich Town manager George Burley, along with Sky Sports’ Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson; League Managers’ Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery.
