Southend United have signed Wolves striker Jake Cassidy on loan for the remainder of the season, to the delight of boss Phil Brown.Cassidy spent the first part of the the current campaign on loan at Notts County, where he scored four goals in 16 games for the League 1 club.
Prior to his stint at Meadow Lane, the 21-year-old also had a temporary spell with Tranmere Rovers, finding the back of the net 11 times in 26 appearances.
"I'm really pleased to have brought Jake to the football club," Southend boss Phil Brown told the club's official website.
"He's scored goals at a higher level and despite his young age, has experience of playing games. It's a fantastic signing for us."
Cassidy, capped eight times for the Wales Under-21 team, has made over 20 appearances for Wolves since turning professional in 2011.
