Eddie Howe named Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month

9 January 2015

AFC Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has been named the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month for December.

Howe’s side racked up five wins, scored 17 goals and recorded a perfect 15 points from 15 in December.

The manager oversaw Bournemouth’s stylish, irresistible march to the Sky Bet Championship summit with his usual charm and humility - key factors in keeping his players focused as the attention builds.

George Burley, who chairs the Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel, said: “Amassing a magnificent 15 points from five games gave Eddie Howe a 100 per cent record in December.

“Scoring 17 goals in the process is a phenomenal achievement for any manager.”

Sky Sports’ Football League pundit Don Goodman said: “This is Eddie’s second Sky Bet Manager of the Month award in three months.

“His second spell at Bournemouth is going from strength-to-strength. Eddie has instilled the belief and character in his squad and given them all the tools to reach the top flight. At the moment, it’s hard to see who can stop them.”

Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery said: “18 goals in six December games including the 6-1 humbling of Blackpool strengthen Howe’s reputation as a top class English manager.

“With Wilson, Kermorgant and Pitman all scoring for fun, Howe is certainly getting the best out of his young squad."

The judging panel for the Sky Bet Manager of the Month is chaired by former Ipswich Town manager George Burley, along with Sky Sports’ Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson; League Managers’ Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery.
