With the score level at 1-1 from the first leg, Ivanovic’s extra-time goal was all that came between the sides in a thrilling contest, and it was enough to take the Blues into the League Cup Final for the first time in seven years.

The Blues will face London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the Capital One Cup Final on 1st March after Christian Eriksen struck in the 88th minute to kill off a stunning Che Adams-inspired Sheffield United comeback in their second leg.
Nigel Clough's cup specialists had rescued a seemingly impossible position in the tie as substitute Adams scored twice within five minutes of coming on at Bramall Lane to level the aggregate score at 2-2.
But Eriksen, who had opened the scoring on a night of snow and hail with a brilliant free-kick, had the final say just as the Blades began to entertain hopes of another remarkable cup win.

The possibility of extra time began to loom but Eriksen came to the fore to rescue the London side.
Harry Kane picked him out with a superb pass and the Dane showed great footwork and composure to finish with a low shot and send Spurs to Wembley with a 3-2 aggregate win, setting up a repeat of the 2008 League Cup Final, which Tottenham won 2-1.
