Wigan Athletic have signed 17-year-old Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo on loan for the rest of the campaign. The England Under-18 international, who can play on either flank, becomes the fifth January signing for Malky Mackay.
The Latics boss believes Ojo has the tools required to help his side's relegation scrap.
Mackay told the club's official website: "I spoke to Brendan Rodgers at length about Sheyi and we both agreed that this is the next stage of his development.
"Brendan sees him as a Liverpool player of the future and will take him into his squad in the summer. We both hope that his time at Wigan Athletic can be a productive one for both parties.
"I have watched him and was excited by what I saw in terms of his pace, touch and awareness. Now it's a question of integrating him with our squad and managing his progress carefully."
Ojo was signed by the Reds in 2011 after coming through the academy at MK Dons and, while he has yet to make a senior appearance, he was an unused substitute for the Premier League games against Burnley and Leicester over the Christmas period.
