Sports fans to retain control on great day of sport

25 February 2015

Football fans are set to ensure they don’t miss any action during the Capital One Cup Final on Sunday 1st March with the launch of a unique product.

A clash of the football titans is looming, and avid viewers can now keep rogue channel-hoppers at bay with a limited-edition ‘Remote Control Defender’.

Competition sponsor Capital One has created lockable cases specially designed to keep satellite TV remotes locked down so that even if fans take their eyes off the ball, the channel is safe.

Jason Carr, the credit card company’s head of sponsorship, said: “We realised that Sunday is a fantastic day of sport – with the Capital One Cup Final and Man City versus Liverpool for football fans, 6 Nations for rugby fans, plus the cricket World Cup. We wanted to do something for fans across the country who are desperate to catch all the Capital One Cup action without any interruption.

“Now fans can literally lock on to their favourite sports programme, sit back and enjoy the action.”

The hotly-anticipated all-London final between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur will round off a day of Premier League clashes, international cricket fixtures and 6 Nations rugby – the stuff of dreams for sports fans.

Capital One is giving away the limited-edition ‘Remote Control Defenders’ to 50 lucky winners through Twitter via @CapitalOneUK in a prize draw in the lead up to super Sunday.

For more information on how to have a chance to win your own ‘Remote Control Defender’, go to the Capital One Facebook page and to have a chance to win follow @CapitalOneUK and retweet the promotion post before 9am on Thursday, 26 February 2015. Ts&Cs apply. UK residents only, over 18 years.
