Preston North End manager Simon Grayson wary of Walsall threat

24 February 2015

Preston North End boss Simon Grayson says he is aware of the strong threat that Walsall pose, ahead of their meeting in Lancashire on Tuesday.

The visiting Saddlers haven't lost away from home in Sky Bet League 1 since October, and were 2-0 victors in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Northern Area Semi-Final at Deepdale in January.

But Grayson says his side know what to expect, and will be looking to strengthen their Play-Off position with a win. They currently sit fourth in the table, six points adrift of the automatic promotion places but with two games in hand.

The North End boss told the club's official website: "We know a lot about them and regardless of who the opposition is, we want to win the game.

“They have got a fantastic away record, like Scunthorpe had at the weekend; it is three or four months since they lost away, which is testimony to them and what they have done.

“We have had a tough time against them this season, but we did the double over them last year. We have an opportunity to go and earn another three points and we will be trying extremely hard to do that."
