MK Dons manager Karl Robinson remains upbeat

17 February 2015

Milton Keynes Dons boss Karl Robinson believes the race for promotion in Sky Bet League 1 is still wide open, despite watching his side pick up just one point from the last nine available.

Dons lost 4-2 away to Gillingham at the weekend, a result that was preceded by a 2-1 defeat against Bradford City.

Recent form has seen Robinson’s men surrender a place at the top of the division and slip back to third, but the 34-year-old believes they are capable of turning their fortunes around.

"I feel better after Gillingham than I did after Bradford,” he told MK Dons' official website.

“I thought the players put an awful lot more effort in and I felt we deserved more than what we got out of the game.

“We’ve conceded too many goals, recently, soon after scoring and we can’t keep doing that. We’re gutted but we can’t sit around and mope, we’ve got to turn our attention to the next game very quickly.

“We’re third in the league, a  point behind second, so there is no time to feel sorry for ourselves. We’ll stay positive and keep moving on as there are an awful lot of games still to play.”
