Dougie Freedman pleased for Nottingham Forest faithful after 3-0 win

12 February 2015

Nottingham Forest manager Dougie Freedman said he was pleased for the club’s supporters after his side coasted to a 3-0 victory against Wigan Athletic at the City Ground.

Britt Assombalonga, Chris Burke and Henri Lansbury scored the goals, and the result made it two wins in two for Freedman since he took over from Stuart Pearce.

“I was really pleased for the fans.” Freedman told nottinghamforest.co.uk after the match.

“We put on a fantastic, fully committed performance and won the game convincingly with three different goalscorers and a clean sheet. I’m really pleased the home fans saw that kind of performance.

“I feel everyone’s committed to the team effort. In the last ten minutes, when Wigan were playing freely, we were still really professional in keeping the ball out the back of our net – a good performance, but we’re not getting carried away.”
