Debut strikers boost Coventry City manager Steven Pressley

2 February 2015

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley watched his two new loan strikers score on their debuts - and revealed that a third new front man may join before the close of the transfer window.

Dominic Samuel and Sanmi Odelusi both joined the Ricoh Arena club in the week and both netted in the first half only for Rochdale to twice come from behind to take a deserved share of the spoils.

But Pressley has not yet finished his window shopping.

He said: "We desperately want to win games and although we did not manage it here, the ingredients are there and this week we can work hard with the two new players and get them totally in tune with what we want.

"Hopefully we will also be able to make another addition or two to help the group as a whole. We would like another attacking threat and someone with pace and also potentially a midfielder player.

"We were quicker on the counter attack today and we looked capable of scoring. Not only did we get two in the first half but we also created quite a few good chances and I was very pleased with the first half performance.

"They made a change at half time and it took us 20 minutes before we really got to grips with that and in the remaining minutes you could see both sides' desperation to win the game and it was a bit like a basketball match the way it went from end to end."
