Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis delighted with back-to-back wins

11 February 2015

Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis was thrilled to see his side record back-to-back Sky Bet League 1 victories as they beat Yeovil Town 1-0.

Nicky Ajose's seventh goal of the season in the 38th minute was enough to seal the points, and keep Yeovil in the drop zone.

The result saw the Railwaymen build successfully on their 3-2 win over Colchester United last weekend and Davis is pleased to have taken a step forward.

"The lads have worked tremendously hard to give us a chance to turn things around and they’ve done terrifically,” he told crewealex.net.

“We should’ve made it easier in the end but I’m delighted with the clean sheet and the back-to-back results.

“They were dictating the first 20, 25 minutes a bit too much with Ajay [Leitch-Smith] getting on the ball, so we changed it back to the formation we used at the weekend and then we looked a lot better from then on."
